Lady Cats go 2-1 in matchups last week

By By Bob Putman, Richwood Gazette

It was not a game plan North Union head volleyball coach Alexis Maenz had planned for.

But in the end it was all positive for the Lady Cats as they swept past Benjamin Logan 25-16, 27-25, 25-18 last Tuesday in Central Buckeye Conference action at North Union.

North Union fell behind in each of the first two sets, but rallied each time to get the victory. The third set was more to Maenz’s liking as the Lady Cats are now 5-2 overall and 2-1 in CBC play. “The first two sets got my heart rate up,” Maenz said. “But our team energy got us rolling. The girls did not dwell on the early mistakes.”

Having eight seniors on the team helped North Union navigate through the early problems.
