Those interested in the promotion of an oil and gas company met at the opera house when it was decided to incorporate a company known as the Community Oil and Gas Company, with a capital stock of $20,000. John H. Hawison, J. S. Kagay, John H. Reed, Dolph Moore and D. E. Ogan were named as incorporators. J. H. Howison was selected as temporary treasurer. All subscribers for stock are asked to call at the Richwood Banking Co., the mayor’s office or on Mr. Howison and get a receipt for their stock.
