NU track and field members go the distance, move along to state meet

North Union’s Drue Duncan and Hannah Carney will be among the participants in this year’s Ohio High School Athletic Association state track and field championships.

The meet is Friday and Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University.

Both Duncan and Carney earned fourth-place finishes last weekend in the Division II regional meet at Lexington High School.

Duncan was fourth in the boys shot put with a toss of 54 feet, 9 inches and Carney was fourth in the girls 400-meter run with a time of 58.60 seconds.

The top four in each event advance to the state meet. Lincoln Harrah earned placement …
