food drive the week of December 7 through the 11. Non-perishable
items will be donated to the Richwood Emergency Assistance Program

were announced recently at the annual awards banquet, held in
conjunction with the 82nd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis,
Ind. Harold Brown, of Ohio, served as superintendent of the event.
Care Train of Union County keeps rolling
The Care Train of Union County has experienced a busy month, as
applications for assistance during the holiday season continue to
arrive daily. Currently applications from 111 families with 257
children 12 and under and 51 children between the ages of 12 and 17
have been reviewed. In addition, 72 senior members of the community
and 31 adults with developmental disabilities have also asked for
assistance during the holidays. The Care Train application can be
found and downloaded on the website, www.caretrain.org The deadline
for submitting an application is Friday, Nov. 20. Locally,
applications are available to Parrott Implement, located on E.
Blagrove St., Richwood.
Teacher suspended for ‘professional misconduct’
North Union Superintendent Rick Smith stated the school district has
suspended teacher Amy White on Tuesday, Oct. 28 for “suspicion of
professional misconduct.” She has been placed on home suspension with
pay and will be given due process pending the completion of the
