 Richwood prepares to host annual Springenfest celebration
It╣s almost here! Springenfest will arrive Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.
Sponsored by the North Union Athletic Complex (NUAC), all profits from the
fundraiser are used to build, maintain and update athletic facilities at
North Union.

high school days when she was a member of the North Union High School
yearbook staff.

The question of fencing around private swimming pools in the village took
a new twist when Council met in regular session on Monday, May 22.

Sgt. Jeremiah Workman received the Navy Cross, the Marine Corp's
second-highest award, for rescuing fellow Marines, but all he could think
about as he was honored Friday during graduation at Parris Island were the
ones who weren't saved.

Wills Construction given go-ahead on building project

  Jason Wills of Wills Construction addressed Council members at a meeting
held Monday, May 8. Wills  is interested in building four houses on the four
lots on the land where the Claibourne-Richwood Elementary School once stood.

RPD Officer assaulted; suspect captured after escape
Justin Lee McKinney escaped from Memorial Hospital of Union County while in
the custody of the Richwood Police Department on Friday, May 5.

Reward offered for information in Prospect Pharmacy robberies
Marion Pharmacy also hit
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 cash reward for
information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for pharmacy
robberies in the Prospect and Marion areas.

Sgt. Workman to receive prestigious Navy Cross

The second highest medal that can be awarded by the United States Navy,
Marine Corps and Coast Guard will be bestowed on North Union graduate Sgt.
Jeremiah Workman in ceremonies to be held on Friday, May 12 at Parris
Island, S.C. Sgt. Workman, who also has received a Purple Heart for injuries suffered
during combat, is only the ninth soldier to receive this honor for service
to his country during Iraqi Freedom.
